David Levy graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 1986 and trained in anaesthesia in Aberdeen, Sheffield and Nottingham.
Appointed consultant anaesthetist at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust in 1995, David enjoys a broad clinical anaesthetic practice with subspeciality expertise in obstetric anaesthesia, neuroanaesthesia, anaesthesia for orthopaedic surgery, and pre-operative assessment.
David is an enthusiastic teacher of postgraduate trainees in anaesthesia & obstetrics, medical students and midwives and has completed a Master’s in Health Law (LLM) at Nottingham Trent University. His dissertation was entitled “Mind the (evidential) gap: the utility of exceptional rules in establishing causation in negligence.”
